On June 26, 2009 Adam, Amy, and Jason had a hard time finding this cemetery. There weren't any actual directions except the cemetery was located behind Harrison High School in Lafayette. We had to stop and ask for directions after our trip around the school was unsuccessful. This cemetery is secluded back behind the tennis courts, behind the school.
The equipment we had with us was a digital camera, digital voice recorder, dowsing rods, EMF detector, and a digital thermometer. Our EMF detector never spiked the entire night. We took a lot of pictures. Jason started using the dowsing rods asking simple yes or no questions. While the questions are being asked we were getting some good responses. Jason asked if the spirit could throw something to let us know there was something there with us. We did hear something being thrown in the wooded area.
Amy saw a shadow figure moving about behind us. We heard an audible female voice that was not Amy. While using the dowsing rods we were being pulled to the other side of the cemetery. While over there Adam and Amy started to feel uneasy. Amy started to feel sick and overall just not right.
We started to get a little spooked and left earlier than planned. Since the cemetery was on school property we were not sure if we could be there. Even though there weren't any signs posted about closing or trespassing. The next day we got the phone number for the Indiana State Police Post which is right there in Lafayette. I called them and spoke with a Sgt. Kelly he said that since it is not a state park there is no time it actually closes. He said that as long as we call and let them know we are coming out they will notify the county sheriff. We will be fine. Sgt. Kelly also stated that they welcome people like us to go to the cemetery to keep the vandalism away.

On June 28, 2009 Adam, Amy, and Jason went back to Harrison Cemetery. We arrived about 11:15 pm. We walked around the entire cemetery taking pictures, doing some EVP work, and asking questions using the dowsing rods. We did not start to get any activity until around 1 am.
Jason started asking questions trying to get a feel for what kind of spirit we could be dealing with. We asked simple questions and got some real good responses. We did get some EVP's as well. We were trying to see if the spirit we were dealing with was actually buried in the cemetery. We did get a clear "yes" to this question. We asked if it could point the rods in the direction of it's tombstone. It did and we followed. It almost seemed as if it was playing games with us. Amy asked if it was playing games with us and the response was "yes". Amy then asked if we were dealing with the spirit of a child, the answer was "yes". Amy then asked if the spirit was under the age of 10 when he died. The answer was "yes". Adam asked if the spirit was 6 years old, we got a "yes" for that as well. The atmosphere and feel of the cemetery began to change. Adam and Amy started to feel a little creeped out. Then we started thinking that maybe this wasn't the spirit of a child but that of something else just screwing with us.
The longer we stayed the worse the feeling was, so we gathered our equipment, thanked the spirit for communicating with us, and asked it to please stay there. We left. We will definitely be going back there at some point to see if we can get to the bottom of the paranormal activity we witnessed here.
DIRECTIONS
Take I-65 North to Exit 178 (Lafayette). Turn right off the ramp onto IN-43. Go to the first stop light and turn left onto 600 N. (State police post on the right side at the light). Go down to the stop sign and turn left onto 50 W. The school is on the left hand side. Take the first entrance into the school, drive all the way back by the tennis courts. You can walk between the 2 courts and turn to the right. You can't miss the cemetery. Enjoy & be safe!!
