The Phantom Tribe

On Halloween 2008 we found ourselves able to investigate Central State Hospital. We were fortunate enough to know somebody that has been able to investigate here. Adam, Amy, Jason, Chris, Robert, and Kristi were the investigators present that night.

There are so many stories that you hear about a place like Central State. For us this was a place we wanted to go to for a long time. Being that it was Halloween we expected there to be a lot of people out and about looking to get a good scare or to scare other people. This was actually the second night we had come out here. The first night was just a brief walk through.

We started our investigation in the Administration Building. We split up, one group upstairs and the other downstairs. We took a lot of pictures and while doing EVP work we were interrupted by a car load of teens looking for some fun. Next we headed over to the Evans Building. These buildings are really destroyed with broken glass, ceilings falling down, graffiti everywhere, and the floors and walls trashed. We continued walking around with eerie feelings almost as if we were being watched. In the Evans Building we found a bathroom covered in what looked like blood. We could not be certain that is what it was but it none the less made the night even creepier. We then made our way to the entrance to the tunnels. This tunnel went from the Evans Building to the Bahr Treatment Center. The tunnel was probably the scariest place there. It was so dark you couldn't even see your hand in front of your face. We made it to the Bahr Treatment Center and walked around for a little while.

After we reviewed the evidence, we did not have anything showing signs of paranormal activity. Other than feelings of being watched there wasn't anything else to suggest paranormal activity.

Update

We tried to go back here to investigate again but this time we were unsuccessful.  We called the authorities and this is what we were told, "Under no circumstances will anybody be aloud in Central State even if you are willing to sign a liability waiver, the buildings are not safe." If you or anyone you know has any updates on Central State please let us know, we would really like to go back here sometime.
